Follow the procedure for manual installation of a printer
- STEP 1: Click on the start button followed by clicking on Devices and Printers
- STEP 2: Click Add a printer
- STEP 3: In the Add Printer wizard, click Add
- STEP 4: On the Choose a printer port page, make sure that the Use an existing port button and the recommended printer port are selected, and then click Next
- STEP 5: On the Install the printer driver page, select the manufacturer and model, and then click Next a) If your printer isn't listed, click Windows Update, and wait while Windows checks for additional drivers b) If none are available and you have the installation CD, click Have Disk, and then browse to the folder where the printer driver is located
- STEP 6: Complete the additional steps in the wizard, and then click Finish.

In case you have set up a homegroup, then you have to follow these steps for accessing a shared printer:
- STEP 1: Click the Start button, and then click Control Panel. In the search box, type homegroup, and then click HomeGroup.
- STEP 2: Make sure the Printers check box is selected. If not select it, and then click Save changes. STEP 3: Go to the computer you want to print from.
- STEP 4: Open HomeGroup by clicking the Start button -> Control Panel. Then type homegroup in the search box, and then click on HomeGroup
- . STEP 5: Click Install printer. STEP 6: If you don't already have a driver installed for the printer, click Install driver in the dialog box that appears. When the printer gets installed, you can access it through the Print dialog box in any program.
